Why You Should Use an Authorized Dealer For Your Copier Service

As the office technology industry continues its consolidation trend that has become so apparent, it is important to put your trust in an authorized service provider who can handle your needs without any disruption to your business. Right after a company is acquired most companies go to their customers and make it known that nothing is changing at all. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. Everything changes immediately with your provider, their product offerings and their ability to service your account are two of the biggest issues you face.

Lets look at some of the very important reasons why you need an authorized dealer:

  1. Parts Availability – If you are not using an Authorized Dealer for your service needs, where do you think they are getting the parts and supplies for your copiers and printers? It could be anywhere that they can find them. They could be third party or used parts. They could be the wrong parts all together for your system. An authorized dealer will always have the correct parts for your system and get them directly from the manufacturer, not a third party supplier.

  2. Updates to your machine – Your machine often needs updates to the firmware, or brains, of the machine. These updates are only available to authorized dealers. If your dealer is not able to receive these critical firmware updates then your machine may not be running at its fullest capabilities.

  3. Tech Bulletins – Much like updates to the firmware, tech bulletins are constantly being sent out to service managers and technicians regarding fixes for machines or items to address. Only authorized dealers will receive these bulletins from the manufacturer.

  4. Recalls – If there are any major recalls from the manufacturer only an authorized dealer will get that information. If your system has major flaws that need to be addressed you will not get that information passed on to you.
